NEW FOR 2026–2027 SCHOOL YEAR: HCPS CLEAR BAG GUIDELINES ➡️ hcpsnc.org/clearbag
Beginning Monday, August 17, Henderson County Public Schools (HCPS) will implement clear bag guidelines at district facilities during middle and high school extracurricular events, including athletic competitions, performances, concerts, and other ticketed or school-sponsored events.
As a leader in school safety, this policy is designed to enhance the safety and security of students, staff, families, and community members.
✅ APPROVED BAGS
Clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags no larger than 12" x 6" x 12"
One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags
Small clutches or wallets no larger than 4.5" x 6"
Seat Cushion 18” X 18” max with pockets no larger than 2”
🚫 Examples of prohibited bags include, but are not limited to:
Backpacks, duffel bags, large purses, drawstring bags, non-clear tote bags, coolers, and other bags that do not meet the guidelines.
EXCEPTIONS
Medically necessary items and diaper bags accompanying an infant or toddler are permitted and may be inspected upon entry.
