SUBSTITUTE and/or Floater, Teacher, Kitchen Help

JOB DESCRIPTION
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates for the position of Substitute or Floater must possess the following minimum qualifications in order to be considered for the position:
The person selected for this position will be responsible for assisting, in a classroom, as a teacher or an assistant in the general supervision and management of the children or in the kitchen as needed.
The person selected for this position
Shall be able to speak, read, and write English.
Shall be at least 18 years of age.
Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Have completed EDU 119 or in the process of obtaining.
Must meet the requirements of the licensing agency including a negative TB test and pass a background check.
This person must have a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, be able to relate well to children and employees and be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the school's educational philosophy.
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTIONS
Assist in the supervision of children including playground activities, assisting with snacks and lunch duties, general housekeeping duties, operating the dishwasher, and kitchen detail as assigned.
Maintain all operational requirements for a safe and healthy licensed childcare center.
Current First Aid and Infant/Child CPR certification, or the commitment to obtain.
Employees shall be able to lift, hold, or carry any enrolled child who weighs up to 35 pounds and to perform physical duties of the job without limitation.
Employees shall be able to speak clearly, able to communicate distinctly in emergency situations either in group situations and/or on the telephone.
Employees shall be able to read at a level high enough to read prescription and medicine labels, stories to children, and file records.
Employees shall be able to communicate with parents and employees verbally and in writing and at a satisfactory level to complete forms for documentation of accidents, first aid treatment given, and/or other observation forms required by the center.
Employees shall be free of a contagious illness, able to handle food services including, but not limited to, snacks and meals, and birthday parties and social functions associated with the center as part of job duties.
Maintain confidentiality about families and co-workers associated with the center.
Within 30 days, employees must have a physician stating that the employee may continue working in a child care environment. Must obtain state-mandated fingerprinting, criminal background check, and TB test.
