ILE Warriors, get ready for Walk Across Sumner 2026!

The Sumner County Health Committee is bringing back its annual 5K/Fun Run and this year it’s a Night Glow Run! Join us at Triple Creek Park Pavilion on Saturday, October 17 at 6:00 PM for an evening of fitness, fun, and plenty of neon! Participants who register by October 2 will receive a shirt that glows under black light and two glow bracelets. Everyone is encouraged to wear their brightest neon gear!

Best of all, money raised from the event supports PE programs throughout Sumner County, and schools with the most participation have the opportunity to earn money for PE equipment and programming.

Can’t attend the run? Students can still participate by completing the Walk Across Sumner BINGO Challenge featuring 16 activities designed to encourage physical activity, healthy eating, and positive social and mental health habits over a four-week period.

Let’s show everyone how active our ILE Warriors can be! https://healthysumner.com/walk-across-sumner/

This week in the STEAM Lab, our k-5 students are becoming mini-golf course engineers! Using everyday materials like cardboard, cups, tubes, pool noodles, Hot Wheels tracks, and wood, students are using their BIG imaginations to create one-of-a-kind mini-golf holes. They’ll design, build, test, problem-solve, and make improvements along the way—all while having a hole lot of STEAM fun!

Everyone loves coming to the library to get a great book, but school libraries have so much more going on behind the scenes! Here’s a few numbers to share about the ILE Library from the 2025-26 school year ❤️📚💙

We are still collecting empty 2-liter bottles, empty drink cans, corks, clear plastic lids, and pool noodles for upcoming hands-on projects. Pool noodles are our BIGGEST need right now, so if you have any extras sitting around, we would love to put them to creative use! Donations can be sent in with your student and dropped off at the STEAM Lab. Thank you for helping us reuse everyday materials and giving our students more opportunities to think, create, build, and innovate!
