Tomorrow will be Mrs. Getter and Ms. Pam’s last day of school too! These two amazing ladies are retiring and our PTO took a moment to honor them today. Mrs. Getter has graced the halls of ILE since 1995, and Ms. Pam first came to ILE in 1994 as the Fun Co. Director, and became a TA in 2006. We are going to sure miss these special ladies! ❤️🤍💙

What an incredible Career Day at Indian Lake Elementary! ✨

Our hallways were buzzing with big dreams and even bigger inspiration today! We want to extend a massive THANK YOU to all the amazing parent and community volunteers who took time out of their busy schedules to share their professions with our students.
From pilots and nurses to engineers, artists, and first responders, our Warriors got a firsthand look at the endless possibilities waiting for them in the future. Seeing their eyes light up while learning about different career paths is exactly why we love this tradition!

Highlights of the day:
•Hands-on Demos: Students got to see the tools of the trade up close.
•Inspiring Stories: Our guests shared what they loved most about their jobs (and even some funny "day in the life" moments).
•Future Planning: We might have a few future mayors and architects in the making!
Check out some of the highlights from today’s event below! 📸👇
To our presenters: You didn’t just talk about your jobs today—you sparked curiosity and helped our students see what’s possible. We are so grateful for our ILE community!

On Wednesday, May 6th, our ILE Student Leadership Team and special guests helped dedicate a pollinator garden in honor of former ILE principal, Jewell McGhee. The garden was first developed by our second graders a few years ago, and with time and care has developed into the amazing space you see today. It is our hope that our pollinator garden will keep growing, just like the impact Mrs. McGhee had on this community. 🌼🦋🌸🦋🌻🦋

From blueprints to a bustling Geometrocity 🏙️📐
Students in Ms. Kobo’s 3rd grade math classes put their geometry skills into action, designing and building a city from the ground up! Students proved their geometric concepts knowledge to earn their building permits. Then used their knowledge of quadrilaterals and polygons, along with their knowledge of calculating area and perimeter, to transform math concepts into creative, real-world structures. They then designed post cards to invite tourists to come visit Geometrocity!
This PBL project showcases not just what they’ve learned, but also what they can create. Geometry in action never looked so impressive!

The third-grade class had a fantastic time crafting pom-pom pets for our first school-wide market day, selling almost all of the over 400 pets they made following a visit from the Sumner County Humane Society that taught them about operating an animal shelter.
