🍀 💚 National 4-H Week - Thankful Thursday! 💚 🍀

If you grew up in 4-H or are involved in it now, you already know it is a community effort! Whether it is a leader who gives their evenings, weekends, and spare time, or someone who taught you to sew, give a presentation, or learn about electricity. Maybe it is the parent who made sure you and other 4-Hers had opportunities. Or the 4-H'er who took notice of a new member and made a friend.

May we never take for granted our 4-H community of volunteers, alumni, parents, and 4-Hers who contribute to "Making the Best Better!"

What’s better than the color green? The color green illuminating the County Courthouse! 💚

In the early 1950s, while Henderson County government was serving the community from this courthouse, the county took an important step forward by hiring Earl Smith as the first county 4-H Agent with NC Cooperative Extension.

That moment marked the beginning of a legacy that would connect generations of Henderson County youth with agriculture, leadership, citizenship, hands-on learning, and service to their community!

Henderson County 4-H serves youth through 4-H Clubs, Programs, School Enrichment programs and 4–H Camps!

Thank you Henderson County for recognizing 4-H in our community. Zane Capps (HC County Council President) and Randi-Mae Eatmon (WD Member Engagement Officer) kicked off the National 4-H week by thanking commissioners and accepting the proclamation.

That is a wrap on the Mountain State Fair! We’ve loved watching our Barnyard Bandits 4-H Club members step into the show ring at the Mountain State Fair!

But we’re not done yet! The Post Auction Fair is coming up this Saturday, September 26! Come out, support our 4-H and FFA youth, and celebrate all the hard work that goes into raising and showing livestock.
