📚 What an AMAZING first day of school!

Our traditional calendar schools kicked off the new school year with excitement, energy, and plenty of smiles! From welcoming students back through our doors to reconnecting with friends and teachers, it was a great day across Vance County Schools.

We are excited about all that lies ahead as our students learn, grow, and achieve together. Thank you to our staff, families, and community for helping make the first day a success!

🍎 Superintendent Dr. Destiney Ross-Putney spent the morning visiting Aycock Elementary and Pinkston Street Elementary, with a special focus on welcoming some of our youngest learners!

Dr. Ross-Putney helped walk students to class, enjoyed breakfast with them, and even joined in on a morning lesson. 📚✏️

The visit to Pinkston Street Elementary was especially meaningful, as Dr. Ross-Putney once walked those same halls as a student herself! From being a student at Pinkston to serving as Superintendent, it was a full-circle moment and a wonderful way to begin the school year.

Here’s to a great start for our Kindergarten students and an amazing year of learning, growing, and making memories!

🌟 REAL EMPLOYERS. REAL JOBS. REAL OPPORTUNITIES! 🌟

Today’s 4 County Career Fair brought together students for an afternoon focused on opportunity, connection and building pathways to the future!

Students had the opportunity to connect with employers from across our region, explore high-demand careers, learn about colleges and training programs, and discover valuable workforce resources.

We are grateful for the collaboration between Vance-Granville Community College and Gateway Community Development Corporation that made this regional event possible.
