Come out to the mine this Saturday for a very special free public day! Our friends at the Clark County Library District will be hosting The Library, Lego Lab Challenge on site all day. Engineer a lego truck and race it down an obstacle track to find out which family has the best engineers. Learn about the library, how easy it is to get a library card, and all the cool benefits of having one!

Free and open to everyone!
Open for our regular public day hours, 10 am to 2 pm with final entry at 1:30 pm.

Are you a student interested in exploring a career in the mining industry or just curious about what kinds of paths a S.T.E.A.M based education can open for you in mining? Are you an educator or mentor with groups of students that are interested in exploring well paid jobs in the industry? Our event is open to all but especially focused on high school and collage age Nevada students looking to enter the job market. Connect with industry experts and educators. Learn about internships, scholarship opportunities, and a multitude of college programs that can support your journey into the industry. You'll have opportunities to explore open roles and speak directly with industry people about the realities of working in the industry; career trajectories, pay scales, and the diversity of opportunities. From entry level operator to roles in legal, finance, or marketing, the mining industry has it all.

Our S.T.E.A.M Career Pathways Program wouldn't be possible if we didn't have such a diverse group of stakeholders and industry leaders to partner with. Make sure to chat with the City of Henderson’ s AmeriCorps, one of our featured partners!

Free Public Day with The Library

Excited to share our upcoming Free Public Day with the Clark County Library Districts “Lego Lab” an engineering focused family event that challenges people to build a better ore truck and race it down an obstacle track. In addition to our regular Saturday activities, self guided tours, and panning activity, the library will be on site to guide you through their Lego challenge and answer any questions you have about what the library has to offer and how to get your library card.

Our McCaw School of Mines STEAM Career Pathways Job Fair is officially underway! We’re beyond excited to finally share the work we’ve been doing to bring this new program to our community of young learners and future miners.

Our event is built around two core experiences. An Industry Career Fair will give participating organizations space to showcase current job openings, internships, and scholarship programs, with students engaging directly with industry representatives. A public roundtable discussion will bring together a panel of industry insiders for an honest look at what a mining career can provide, covering career pathways, compensation, growth potential, and how STEAM education connects to roles available today. Open to all, the day is focused on our community of job age and soon to be job age students.

Mark your calanders for September 5th, 9 AM to 2 PM!

Join us for this collaborative, family inspired event with the Clark County Library District. In conjunction with our September Free Public Day The Library is hosting a STEAM inspired activity that invites the whole family to work together to solve Lego built engineering problems. Design a vehicle, test it out, move ore through a racetrack, and vie for the most efficient design.

We are excited to help The Library bring this to you all in our ongoing effort to Make STEAM education and mining something that feels more accessible to our students and families.
