🏃 JES CROSS-COUNTRY STARTS TOMORROW! 🐆

Jaguar Families,
We are excited to kick off our Cross-Country season tomorrow! Cross-country is open to students in grades 3–5.

📅 Practice Days: Monday, Tuesday & Thursday
⏰ Pickup: 3:30 PM
📍 Pickup Location: JES car rider line

A few important reminders:

* Students should bring a water bottle and tennis shoes for every practice.
* With the current heat, we will practice inside the gym until temperatures cool back down.
* All cross-country students must be car riders and picked up promptly at 3:30 PM in the car rider line.

It’s not too late to join! If your child in grades 3–5 would still like to participate, simply send a note to school giving permission for them to stay for cross-country practice.

We’re excited to get our Jaguars moving and have a great season with Coach Fulcher! 🐆💛🖤

💛🐆 Community partnership makes a difference! 🐆💛

A huge THANK YOU to First Christian Church and Pastor David Clifford for purchasing and donating headphones for every student at Jefferson Elementary!

We are incredibly grateful for the many ways Pastor Clifford and the First Christian Church family continue to support our Jaguars. Their generosity goes far beyond a donation—it is a true example of community partnership and collaboration at work.

When our school, families, and community come together, we are able to provide even more opportunities and resources for our students. We are so thankful to have First Christian Church walking alongside us as we work to support our Jaguars and their families.

🚗 Friendly Reminder: JES Dismissal Procedures

Jaguar Families, please help us keep dismissal safe, smooth, and efficient by following our car rider and walker procedures. Please refer to the diagram to refresh your memory about our JES dismissal procedures.

Please remain in your vehicle at all times during dismissal and do not call your child over to your car. Getting out of your vehicle or calling students over slows the line and interferes with our process for getting students to their vehicles quickly and safely.

Once your vehicle enters the actual car rider line beside the playground, two lanes will form. Please follow staff directions as you move through the line.

🚶 Walker Reminder: Students designated as walkers must actually walk home from school. Walkers should not be picked up by vehicles on Alvasia Street.

For the safety of our students, we also ask that vehicles do not use Alvasia Street to enter the car rider line or park along Alvasia Street during dismissal. Keeping this area free of unnecessary vehicle traffic allows our walkers to travel home more safely. We also cone off the end of Alvasia Street to keep our bus lane clear for buses only.

JES Families,
Our Jaguars are spending these first days learning cafeteria procedures and routines. To give students time to get comfortable and learn expectations, we ask that parents wait until Monday, August 24 before joining their child for lunch.

Due to limited cafeteria seating, parents may eat lunch with their child once per month. When visiting, parents will sit with their child in our designated parent seating area.

Thank you for helping us establish strong routines and make lunchtime a smooth experience for all of our Jaguars!

Congratulations to Mrs. Wilson for being selected as Jefferson’s Make A Difference award recipient. Hannah Tanaka nominated Mrs Wilson for the award. Mrs Wilson was recognized at HCS Convocation today. Krystalynn has a heart of gold. She loves her jaguars deeply and is committed to having her students feel confident and loved each and every day. Thank you Mrs Wilson for all you do as an educator and an incredible human being. You are definitely making your mark on this world and in the lives of so many.
