EXCITING, BREAKING NEWS! The DWAA (Dog Writers Association of America) just announced the finalists for the 2025 Writing Competition. Spirit, The Dream Chaser – A Dog With A Mission is a Finalist in the category of Books – Children ages 9-12. We share this honor with two other publications. Winners will be announced at the end of January. We are thrilled and grateful that Spirit is recognized in such a meaningful way for his storytelling and messages about faith, hope, and courage. Spirit and I thank our team – Pem Pfisterer Clark, Michael Pineda, and Lara Usilton – for their contributions in transforming the dream of sharing our story into this beautiful publication!

Ms. Pem’s Art For Kids
Winter, 2026

The 2026 Winter Session of Ms. Pem’s Art for Kids classes for kids 11 yrs. and up meet on 6 consecutive Monday evenings from 5:30 to 6:30 pm beginning January 12th thru February 16th, 2026. Classes for kids 5 to 10 yrs. meet on 6 consecutive Tuesday evenings from 5:30 to 6:30 pm beginning January 13th thru February 17th, 2026. All classes meet in our permanent classroom at Worsham Hall, 215 N Elm, in downtown Henderson, KY.
Students are professionally instructed in technique, media and concepts, and work on their own projects at their own level. I will be the instructor.
Registration Fee: $68 due the first night of class. No additional fees. We accept cash or check. Snacks and all supplies are included, although many of our older students have supplies they like to bring with them.
Many of my students choose to join us both Monday and Tuesday evenings because they are passionate about art. There are no additional fees for coming both nights. This also allows for making up a class if a child is sick or on vacation; so your child has the opportunity to get 12 classes for the price of six. It’s up to you and your child how many times he or she attends.
When registering, please let me know if there are allergies I need to be aware of.
