Ending summer on a high note and diving right into Day 1! ☀️🌊

Last week, our 3rd grade (Pride of 2036) and 4th grade (Pride of 2035) scholars wrapped up summer session with an awesome trip to Kerr Lake. Today, they’re officially back in the building and ready to make this school year their best one yet!

From our kindergarteners taking their very first steps into the building to our high school seniors preparing for their final chapter, today marks the start of a year filled with purpose, community, and joy. Our incredible teachers and staff have been eagerly waiting to fill these halls with energy and learning once again.

To our parents, caregivers, and community members: thank you for trusting us with your children's growth. We are honored to walk alongside every scholar on their journey this 2026–2027 school year. Let's make it unforgettable!

🎉 Alumni Spotlight! Join us in celebrating our very own , Madai Jimenez from the Pride of 2026! 🐺❤️

Madai’s time taking advanced math courses here at HC sparked a true passion for mathematics. Now, she’s taking that love to the next level at the NC State College of Education! 🎓 She will be double majoring in mathematics and mathematics education with a minor in music studies, and was even awarded the prestigious Dean's Excellence Scholarship! 🌟

In a recent College of Education News feature, Madai shares how her HC teachers made her classes "10 times better" and how she hopes to pass that same passion on to her future students. We couldn't be more proud to see her striving to make a difference in the classroom. 🍎✏️

🎉 Congratulations to Madai Mojica-Jimenez, Pride of 2026! 🎉

Henderson Collegiate proudly celebrates Madai as the second recipient of the Thomas C. Church Jr. Family Scholarship at NC State University! 🐺❤️

Established in 2025 by long-time Henderson Collegiate friends and supporters Tom and Gillie Church, this renewable scholarship provides up to $5,000 per year for four years totaling $20,000 to support Henderson Collegiate graduates attending NC State. Priority is given to students living in Vance County and pursuing undergraduate engineering degrees.

The Church Family’s generosity opens doors, removes barriers, and empowers our Pride to continue climbing the mountain to and through college. 🌟 We are deeply grateful to Tom and Gillie Church for believing in our students and investing in their bright futures! Thank you for your uncommon generosity and unwavering support of our Pride!
