Our 5th graders worked together to dive into articles about the Nez Perce Tribe and explore how they sustained their way of life during the 1800s. Students practiced annotating, identifying, and citing textual evidence to support their thinking—all while sharing ideas and learning from one another! 📝🔎🤝

It’s amazing to see our students reading like researchers, thinking critically, and building their understanding together! 🌟

Liberty's Kids is an acclaimed, teacher-approved animated historical series that brings the events of the American Revolution to life for young learners.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲:
The show follows two young, fictional teenage journalists—Sarah Phillips (an English girl) and James Hiller (an American boy)—who work for Benjamin Franklin’s newspaper, The Pennsylvania Gazette. Together with their young friend Henri and a former slave named Moses, they travel across the colonies to report on major historical events firsthand.

Our kindergarteners are using their five senses to explore, observe, and make connections about the fascinating world around them! From curious looks to those too-cute sour faces, every sensation sparked a little learning. 🔬📚

And the verdict is in… salty was the favorite! 🧂😋

These two studious sharks earned a special lunch date with their teacher, Mrs. Lyoubi! 🥪✨ Students can purchase class passes for special experiences like 𝘓𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘩 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘳—and these two made the most of theirs!

Good food, great conversation, and a little extra teacher time make for a pretty fin-tastic lunch! 🦈😄

🏓⏱️ 𝙎𝙇𝙊𝙒 𝘼𝙉𝘿 𝙎𝙏𝙀𝘼𝘿𝙔 𝙒𝙄𝙉𝙎 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝘾𝙃𝘼𝙇𝙇𝙀𝙉𝙂𝙀! ⏱️🏓

Our fourth- and fifth-grade GATE students took on a challenge that required creativity, patience, teamwork, and plenty of problem-solving! 💡🤝

For the Slow Ball Run Challenge, teams had 40 minutes to transform 20 pieces of copy paper, masking tape, and a cardboard base into a freestanding ball run at least 10 inches high. Their mission? Create a course that would keep a ping-pong ball traveling for the longest possible amount of time without getting stuck! 🏓⬇️

Students quickly discovered that creating a successful design takes more than one idea. They communicated, tested different approaches, made adjustments, learned from unexpected results, and tried again when things didn’t go according to plan. 🔄

These challenges are about so much more than building structures—they give students the opportunity to practice critical thinking, flexibility, perseverance, collaboration, and a growth mindset. 🌟

Sometimes the best learning happens when your first idea doesn’t work… and you decide to try something new! 💪🧠
