Last Friday, Nevada State University proudly hosted the Southern NV Student Government Summit! 🧑⚖️📚
Student Body Presidents’ Stephanie Flores from NSSA - Nevada State Student Alliance, Kelechi Odunze from UNLV CSUN, and Brayden Boulter from ASCSN Student Government, came together to learn about and tackle real issues impacting their campuses. The Third Annual Nevada State University Community Awards was a night to celebrate exceptional leaders and community partners across Nevada.
This year’s awardees featured Roberto’s Taco Shop, recipient of the President’s Medal – Corporation award, and Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada, honored with the President’s Medal – Nonprofit for their commitment to empowering youth and enhancing the community. The City of North Las Vegas received the Community Partner Award for its support of Nevada’s students and families.
The event also recognized individuals for their leadership and service, such as Las Vegas Raiders Senior Vice President of Government and Community Relations Piper Overstreet-White, who received the Visionary Award, and Walter Hashimoto, a dedicated community leader who was honored with the Service Award.
