Two times more likely to be civically active (Grades 8-12);
Two times more likely to make healthier choices (Grade 7);
Two times more likely to participate in Science, Engineering and Computer Technology programs during out-of-school time (Grades 10 – 12); and
4-H girls are two times more likely (Grade

10) and nearly three times more likely (Grade 12) to take part in science programs compared to girls in other out-of-school time activities

Henderson County 4-H is looking for a volunteer leader to help create and lead an environmental/outdoor club focused on hands-on learning, nature exploration, and outdoor education. This is a great opportunity to inspire young people while sharing your passion for the natural world!

The Henderson County Bullseye Brigade was very busy this weekend - shooting tournaments on both Friday night and Saturday.

Fun statistics from our weekend:
~A total of 24 4-Hers ranging in age from 10 to 18 represented Henderson County 4-H Shooting Sports.
~Competitors represented the club in 4 separate disciplines - archery, trap, .22 sport rifle, & .22 pistol.
~The team traveled to two different counties in two days.
~Approximately 13 hours were spent on the ranges over those two days.
~A total of 105 .22 bullets, 270 arrows, and 1,350 shotgun shells were sent down range.

After all that hard work, this team came home with some hardware! Congratulations to the following:

*Ellen Chaney - 1st place (12-14) Compound Bare Bow & 2nd place Bare Recurve
*Grayson Guill - 2nd place (12-14) .22 Pistol
*Paige Goldsberry - 2nd place (15-18) Compound Bare Bow

*Gavin Cheaney - 4th place (15-18) Compound Bare Bow & 4th Trap 100 Clay

Henderson County is making a big impression at the Kentucky State Fair! From dairy goats to country hams, these young exhibitors are proving that hard work pays off and are taking the fair by storm.

🏆 Country Ham Results
McKenzie Skaggs and John Tyler Green tied for 2nd Best Smoked Ham in their age division.
Paige Bennett earned Best Smoked Speech in her age division.
Marissa Gibson won Overall Smoked Ham in her age division.
🐐 Dairy Goat Results

Cole Green and John Tyler Green each won Youth Dairy Goat Showmanship in their respective classes.
Mackenzie Adair earned Youth Best in Show and won both Grand Champion and Reserve Champion LaMancha Doe in the Open Dairy Goat Show.
Montana Fehd was awarded Grand Champion Nigerian Doe.

On Saturday the Bullseye Brigade archery team traveled to Berea, KY to compete in the 2nd Annual Archery Extravaganza. This group braved the heat, had lots of laughs, and celebrated success! We are proud of this group and their hard work!

🌊☀️ Camp Jekyll 2027 Registration is OPEN! ☀️🌊

Get ready for an unforgettable adventure! Join Henderson County 4-H as we travel to Camp Jekyll on April 4–7, 2027 for four days of hands-on learning, new friendships, and memories that will last a lifetime.

🏖️ Open to current 7th–12th grade 4-H members

💲 Total cost: $620
✅ $125 deposit due by September 30, 2026 to reserve your spot.
💳 A payment plan is available to help spread out the cost!

The trip includes:
🚌 Transportation
🏨 Lodging
🏕️ Camp programming
(Meals outside of camp are the responsibility of the attendee.)

⚠️ Space is limited, so don't wait to secure your spot! Be sure to review the payment schedule on the flyer, and remember that no refunds will be given after January 29, 2027.
