Step into the past on Saturday, August 29th, from 10 AM to 12 PM, and meet Lettice Pierce Bryan, author of the first known cookbook to be written and published in Kentucky!

Originally published in 1841, Lettice's The Kentucky Housewife offered her contemporary women a guide to frontier life through recipes, remedies for illness, and practical household advice.

Join us in the HCPL Event Suite as Lettice addresses the Young Woman's Club in the year 1872 - thirty years after her book was first published!
