Here’s some additional photos of our electromagnets! Tomorrow we may see who can create the electromagnet that can hold the most paper clips. Does anyone and any tips for these electrical engineers?
In the WMSC, science is something fun that you can touch, see, taste, smell and experience. This is what William McCool said about experiencing being in space.
September 12, 2005 the William McCool Science Center opened for classes! This is how we want students to feel when they're in our 4,300 square foot interactive Science Center and Gardens.
“there is so much more than what I ever expected, it’s beyond imagination, until you actually get up and see it and experience it and feel it.”
It was the dream of Lamping’s first principal and science speciali

Today for The Summer Acceleration Program at Lamping we made electromagnets. First we investigated how the poles of the electromagnetic relate to the positive and negative side of the batteries! Super interesting.

We've selected three new science investigations to go to the Moon, where they'll help to lay the foundation for missions with astronauts through NASA's Artemis Program.
Our Commercial Lunar Payload Services industry partners will deliver the payloads to the lunar surface: https://go.nasa.gov/2ThiLEC
For week 2 session 2 we pulled out the star lab and looked at our globe from the inside out! We investigated the lines of longitude and lines of latitude. We located our city and looked where it is located using latitude and longitude. Tomorrow we will investigate the solar system in the star lab!

We kicked off week 2 with some snails. We observed the snails shell, tentacles, eyes,
and foot! Did you know the snail has a foot? The foot is the snails body. We also learned that the snails body is covered in slime so it doesn’t dry up!

We had a blast during our first week of summer accelerated program at Lamping. Over here in the William McCool Science center we had Dissection Station where we dissected lima beans, flowers, fruits, owl pellets and the grand finally a FROG! The kids had a blast and learned so much!

On earth day, this is my favorite pic of home. Taken by the Apollo 8 astronauts in December (of the tumultuous) 1968. They only circled the moon 10 times, finally saw this after about the 7th lap... and said "WHOA." Similar to what we might do when we see a full moonrise. NASA photo.
