Nevada Student Alliance

The Nevada Student Alliance is a coalition of student representatives from all of the institutions within the Nevada System of Higher Education.

NSA advocates for and on behalf of common issues that effect all of Nevada’s college and university students. The NSA is constitutionally charged to:

* Promote, foster, advance, represent, and protect the interests and welfare of the students of the Nevada System of Higher Education;

* Give the students of the Nevada System of Higher Education a unified voice before all systems and legis

That wraps up a successful NSA meeting! We hope to increase our outreach towards students by working with one another to create creative useful tactics. We want to ensure students feel welcomed and included. Thank you to all the student body presidents and their proxies for attending today’s meeting and we hope to see you all next time!

Tonight, the Nevada Student Alliance approved resolutions in support of the following:

United States House Resolution 3177: to simplify the application used for estimation and determination of financial aid eligibility for postsecondary education (more information here: https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/114/hr3177)

United States House Resolution 2927: to authorize Hispanic-serving institutions receiving grants under Part A of Title V of the Higher Education Act of 1965 to use such grant amounts to assist students in entering medical schools, and for other purposes (more information here: https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/114/hr2927)
