Class of 2026 Countdown to Graduation! 🎓️

Today we celebrate Jonathan Wan! While Jonathan is quiet by nature, his personality shines through and it has been a joy to witness his subtle sense of humor and creativity. He is a kind and respectful student to all of his classmates and teachers and he has definitely made a positive impact on our school. He has been involved in Gaming Club and participated in Art Festival, where he shared his interests and talents and he even combined the two by helping create the yearbook cover for the past two years. Jonathan plans to attend University of Nevada, Las Vegas to study computer science and we are so excited to see what he achieves in the future! We will miss you Jonny!

Class of 2026 Countdown to Graduation! 🎓️

Today we celebrate Mr. Julian Walls. Julian’s competitive spirit and drive is something all of his teammates and Coaches looked for while he was at GV Christian. Julian was one of the inaugural members of the first 11-man football team at GV Christian, where he played most of the positions on the field over the last four years. He also helped win a State championship in basketball his freshman year before playing in the 2A and then the 3A for basketball, making him one of only two students to play at all three levels of Varsity Basketball that GV Christian has participated in. He is also a standout in the spring season playing baseball then track and field. No matter what Julian does though his team knew he had their back and you always knew Jules was going to give it his all! Thanks Julian!

Today we are celebrating Crystal! Crystal brings a smile wherever she goes. She has a compassionate heart and a reputation for being a good friend to all around her. As a TA, Crystal has shown a great work ethic, creativity, and patience. In sports, students and staff have seen her team spirit, hard work, and achievements. Crystal has shown outstanding performance in basketball, where she has set school records for 3-pointers. Everywhere she goes a quiet wisdom follows, which will serve her well.

Today we celebrate Sadie! Sadie is a shining light in everything she does. Her leadership and involvement in National Honor Society, Worship Collective, Campus Ministry, Cheer, Cross Country, and Track & Field will be deeply missed. She is kind, thoughtful, and respectful to everyone around her, always encouraging others to step up as leaders and get involved alongside her. No matter the task, Sadie gives it her all. She has a true heart for service and is constantly striving to grow in her character and in her relationship with the Lord and with others. Somehow, she’s balanced it all while rising to the top academically as the Valedictorian for the Class of 2026.

Today we celebrate Miss Ashleigh Penny! Ashleigh has been a bright presence in our school community, truly lighting up every room she walks into. She has been actively involved in cheer and softball and has also been a dedicated member of the school play for three years. Whatever the situation, Ashleigh can always be counted on to step up and offer help when it is needed. As cheer co-captain, she has proved to be a strong and dependable leader who encouraged and supported those around her. She is unashamed of her faith and is known for her consistently positive attitude, which has been a blessing to many. Ashleigh has made GV Christian School a better place, and she will be greatly missed as she moves on to her next chapter!

Today we celebrate Ethan Nguyen! Ethan earned his Varsity Letter in Cross county and was the team captain this year. He was also a Varsity Letter winner in Wrestling and Track and Field. He is the school record holder in the 110 meter hurdles, which he set this year! Ethan is not just a strong athlete, but also a very academically gifted student. He is a member of the National Honor Society, has taken multiple Advance Placement classes, and is a winner of the ACSI Distinguished Christian School Student Award! Ethan has definitely left an enduring mark on our school and has an exceptionally bright future ahead of him!

Today, we celebrate Leslie McCoy! Leslie is one of our Golden Graduates, and we know that GV won’t be quite the same without her when she leaves. When you hear about all that Leslie does on the daily, you’ll wonder how she has time for sleep! Leslie is a valedictorian candidate, as she dedicated time and consistency to her academics throughout high school. She is a 4-sport athlete, keeping herself busy with practices and competitions. Her senior year, she was elected as a Student Body class rep AND as the president of National Honor Society. She is a Campus Ministry leader and loves building relationships with her small groups as they discuss God, faith, and life. She leads in worship at both her home church and with Worship Collective. Even with this full load, she takes on other extracurriculars such as Esports and Let’s Talk club because she thrives when she’s in community with others. Outside of school, she has an active church and family life, and she also has a part time job to save up for her future. One would come to the conclusion that Leslie has teleportation superpowers in order to juggle all these activities, but it’s actually with the love and support of her family members (including her sister and Class of 2023 alum, Morgan) that Leslie can handle all of what she sets her mind to. We have been incredibly blessed to have Leslie as part of our GV Christian family, and we know she will continue to impress everyone as she embarks on the next chapter of life. We pray for her continued faith and success in her journey to study Sports Management and Education. Good luck, Leslie!
