🎉We’re excited to welcome two incredible groups of local high school students to campus for the Fall 2026 semester!

Last week, we wrapped up orientation for our Early College Academy and Jump-Start students from Henderson County High School and Union County High School.

🎓 Early College Academy students begin taking classes at HCC during their junior year and continue through their senior year, giving them the opportunity to graduate high school with an associate degree.

🚀 Jump-Start students are high school seniors who take college classes at HCC while finishing high school, giving them a head start on their college journey.

🎉 Welcome to HCC, Javin Burnett! 💙

Please join us in welcoming Javin Burnett to Henderson Community College as our new Academic Advisor! 🎓

Javin brings a strong background in student support, leadership, and student engagement to HCC. Most recently, he served as Director of Residence Halls at Oakland City University (OCU), where he led residence life teams, supported students, managed student concerns, and helped create engaging campus experiences.

His experience also includes serving as an Adjunct Professor of Business at OCU, where he developed course materials, facilitated classroom discussions and taught undergraduate business courses.

Javin holds master’s degrees in Business Administration and Strategic Management, and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, all from OCU.

With his passion for helping students learn, grow and reach their goals, we’re excited to have Javin on the HCC team! 💙

Meet Gavin Brown! 👋🔧

We’re excited to welcome Gavin Brown, our newest Henderson Community College FAME student, to the Audubon Metals team!

Gavin joined the FAME program because he wanted to pursue a college education while also building a path toward a rewarding career. He enjoys working with his hands, taking things apart, and putting them back together, and he’s looking forward to expanding his knowledge of how things work in an industrial plant setting.

Outside of school and work, you’ll find Gavin riding dirt bikes and hunting. His goal is to learn as much as possible about the industrial environment and gain hands-on experience that will help prepare him for his future career.

Gavin also has a special connection to Audubon Metals—his father has been part of the Audubon Metals team for 19 years! We’re proud to have Gavin continue that connection and excited to see all he accomplishes through the FAME program.

✨ Life lately at HCC…

It’s been a busy and exciting few weeks around Henderson Community College! 💙

Last week, we welcomed students to Pathfinder Preview, where they knocked out those last-minute to-dos, picked up their student IDs, connected with campus resources and got ready for the semester ahead. 🎒✅

Then came the start of the Fall 2026 semester! 🎉 Students were greeted by an oversized WELCOME BACK, PATHFINDERS sign as they kicked off the Fall 2026 semester.

We’re excited for all that this semester has in store and even more excited to see our Pathfinders learning, growing and making their mark. Here’s to a great semester! 💙🧭
