Friday, September 5, 2025 will be an Early Dismissal for Students only and a PM Planning Day for Teachers & Staff.

Reminder: With students returning, please plan for extra time during the morning and afternoon commute.

🟡 Flashing yellow lights on a school bus means it is preparing to stop. Drivers should slow down, stay alert, and watch for children.

🛑 When the stop-arm is out, all traffic must come to a complete stop.

🕑 Afternoon delays are possible this week. Please be patient as we work to ensure all students arrive to their destination safely.

Our wonderful drivers are ready to provide shuttle services for the Freedom Festival today!

CONTINUOUS ROUND-TRIP SERVICE:
Shuttles will run continuous round-trip routes from 5 PM until 9 PM. After the fireworks show, shuttles will resume final service routes back to Henderson High School.

Thank you to HISD Communications for getting this message out while our boots were on the ground. It takes a team of well rounded individuals to effectively manage incidents on all levels.

BUS DELAY: Due to a mechanical issue discovered before the bus route began, Bus 16 will be approximately 30 minutes late getting home today. We apologize for the delay and expect the issue to be resolved by tomorrow. - HISD Transportation

Tonight we ate few hotdogs and prayed over each bus, bus driver, pupil and support personnel. We prayed for a safe year and an excellent start to the 2024-2025 school year. Each bus was visited and every pupil and driver were prayed for. We ask that you extend your prayers to cover us as embark on our journeys for the first time tomorrow morning for 24-25. Thank you to all who attended and our special guest Frank Lane!

Reminder!! Cell phone usage within school zones is prohibited (unless with a hands free device) under Section 545.425 of the Texas Transportation Code. Campus SROs will issue written warnings for the first offense. Citations will be issued for subsequent offenses. Let's keep our children safe!

Announcement:
Road Closures to be expected on August 14th through August 15th around the Rusk County Jail. N. Van Buren and W. Charlevoix will be closed for the first two days of school. There will be a heavy presence of contractors in the area as the A/C units are being replaced on top of the jail building. Please use extreme caution in this area and avoid these two streets. You may detour around by taking North Main to West Depot. Please see the attached image for a visual representation of what streets will be closed.

The school year is quickly approaching. Please be aware of school buses and bus stops. Do your part in knowing the law and help inform new drivers. This is for the safety of the most precious cargo ever transported!
