en enrolled in our preschool program. Northern Oaks Children's House is licensed by Sibley County as a (C3) Special Family Daycare in a commercial property. We operate as a small Montessori-based program that is at full capacity at 14 children. Though small, we continue to build a wonderful community with the families in our program! Families may choose year-round or academic year only (summers off). All spaces are 5 days per week, so that every child is a consistent member of our community. Our goal is to create a culture of consistency, order and independence. When children are working on a task- often in small groups with other children- they get excited to return the next day to continue working on it together. Young children have little or no sense of time, so when they attend sporadically, it makes it difficult for them to maintain a high level of enthusiasm about their work and being with their peers. Children of this age thrive when their daily lives are full of consistent routines, and therefore all of the spots at Northern Oaks are full-time spots. While we recognize that this will not work for every family, we feel strongly that it is in the best interest of each child if they are to get the most out of our program. NORTHERN OAKS MISSION:
