The Hempstead Theatre Alumni Association is proud to launch our 2026–2027 Community Partnership Program.
For generations, Hempstead Theatre has given students a place to create, compete, grow, and represent our community. With 10 UIL One Act Play State appearances, including 3 in the last 4 years, that legacy continues to grow.
Now we are inviting local businesses, organizations, alumni, families, and community members to become part of that legacy.
Community partnerships directly support the Hempstead High School Theatre Department and help provide opportunities and resources for our students throughout the season.
Partnership opportunities begin at $250, with several levels of recognition available.

This year’s Hempstead Theatre shirts are being sold through the Hempstead Theatre Alumni Association!
This year’s design is extra special as we celebrate 100 years of UIL One Act Play and honor Hempstead’s 10 State Contest productions. Each symbol on the shirt represents a piece of our history.

This year, UIL One Act Play is celebrating 100 years, and Hempstead Theatre is proud to celebrate our place in that history.
Hempstead first competed in OAP in 1939 and has advanced to the State Contest 10 times: 1960, 1962, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2011, 2013, 2023, 2024 and 2026.

Do you have a Hempstead High School student who is interested in theatre or has never seen a play before?
Tuesday during the first week of school, we will be hosting a Theatre Mixer open to all HHS students. Come see what Hempstead Theatre is all about and learn how your student can become part of one of Hempstead High School’s most successful UIL programs.
We will have free popcorn and drinks for everyone who attends. After the show, students can stick around to meet the company and learn more about getting involved.

We have been working tirelessly over the last 7 days on the Summer Project! Join us tomorrow at 7:00PM in the Hempstead High School Auditorium as we celebrate the work our students!

AUDIENCE ADVISORY: The Pillowman is a dark psychological thriller intended strictly for mature audiences (Ages 14+). This production contains graphic depictions and descriptions of violence.
