🎉☀️ FUN N THE SUN TAKES ON EMPIRE! ☀️🎉

Our Safe Haven crew had an absolute BLAST at Empire! When we say our children played HARD… we mean it! 😂💜

🚗 Bumper cars
🤸🏾 Trampolines
🧗🏾 Rock climbing
🏃🏾 Obstacle courses
😂 Lots of laughs, friendly competition & nonstop FUN!

And the best part? Our staff got right in there with them! 😂 Sometimes you have to put the “teacher hat” to the side for a minute, bring out your inner child, and make memories WITH the children.

That’s what our Fun N The Sun Summer Program is about—getting out, trying new things, laughing together and giving our children a summer filled with experiences they’ll remember.

Safe Haven staff + our babies + a day at Empire = GOOD TIMES! 💜☀️

🌊 Fun in the Sun—Week 4: Sea Life! 🐠🐧

🐠 Gone Fishing at Safe Haven Daycare! 🎣🦀

Today our little ocean explorers had a splashing good time catching fish, scooping crabs, and discovering amazing sea life! 🌊

As we played, we learned that dolphins are mammals, not fish—they breathe air through their blowholes and must come to the surface to breathe. We also discovered that fish don’t drink water like we do. Most saltwater fish actually drink seawater and filter out the salt, while many freshwater fish absorb water through their bodies instead of drinking it!

Through this hands-on water play, our children strengthened fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, problem-solving, focus, patience, language development, and critical thinking as they explored, asked questions, and made exciting discoveries.

The fish may be pretend, but the learning is REEL! 🐠💙

🚤 STEAM Monday: Will It Float or Sink? 🌊

Our young engineers used creativity and problem-solving to design foil boats that could float and carry sea animals! They planned, built, tested, and made changes when needed—learning that mistakes are part of the discovery process.

This hands-on activity supported:

🧠 Critical thinking and cause-and-effect
🎨 Creativity and engineering
✋ Fine-motor development
🔢 Counting, size, weight, and balance
💬 New science vocabulary
🤝 Teamwork, patience, and confidence

At Safe Haven Daycare, play becomes meaningful learning—and every little idea can lead to a big discovery! 🔬✨

This Saturday, our children enjoyed an exciting hands-on visit to the Long Island Firefighters Museum as we continued learning about community helpers. They explored fire trucks, practiced important fire-safety skills, learned about emergency services, and discovered how firefighters help keep our communities safe.

At Safe Haven Daycare, learning does not stop Monday through Friday. We are also available on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for families who need dependable care.

learning… we take our children out to LIVE it.

This week, our little explorers met, fed, and learned about real farm animals! They discovered where animals live, what they eat, how to care for them, and how to interact with them gently and respectfully.

At Safe Haven Daycare, learning doesn’t stay inside four walls. We believe the best lessons happen through real-life experiences that spark curiosity, confidence, and unforgettable memories.

✨ Because childhood is too important to spend sitting at a table all day.

💜 Want your child to experience learning like this?
