Hemlock K.C. Ling Elementary School This page is to update students and parents as to the coming events at Hemlock/Ling Elementary Schools. Most is in rural western Saginaw County .

The Hemlock Public Schools District was organized in 1863 and is governed by a seven member board of education elected by the general constituency of the district. The district consists of 120 square miles and is located in five townships that extend into two counties: Saginaw and Midland . Our district has two elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. The school district is located in the unincorporated community of Hemlock. Hemlock has about twelve hundred residences and is located in an agricultural and residential setting. The district currently serves 1,298 students. With a commitment to excellence, we offer our students challenging academics and relevant learning programs. Yet at the same time we believe that education should engage the whole student. Through athletics, drama, technology, music, service learning opportunities and other extracurricular activities, Hemlock Public Schools provides extensive and well-rounded opportunities for all of our students to achieve their full potential. Our underlying philosophy is "Kids First". That means we don't settle for "good enough" because we believe our students, their families and our community deserve nothing less than excellence. We are continually looking for and incorporating opportunities to make education better...as a springboard for life, as preparation for higher education and as a positive learning experience for all of our students. We welcome and strive to maintain open and timely communication with our families. Parents and guardians are encouraged to get involved. We have various volunteer opportunities and parent groups that help build close relationships with school administrators, teachers, coaches, advisors and support staff. We invite you to visit our schools to become familiar with your child's everyday educational environment.

Little Poms, BIG SPIRIT! 📣

Last week, our 1st–4th grade Huskies had their moment in the spotlight during Little Poms Night at halftime of the varsity football game! ✨ We loved seeing our youngest Huskies take the field, show off their moves, and cheer alongside our varsity poms team!

A huge shoutout to our Varsity Poms team for organizing and leading this special tradition each year! 💙 This program is about so much more than learning a routine. It creates a wonderful opportunity for team building, mentorship, and connection between our younger students and high school athletes. Our Little Poms get to learn from positive role models, build confidence, and feel part of something bigger, while our varsity athletes have the chance to lead, encourage, and inspire the next generation of Huskies.

Thank you to our Varsity Poms team for sharing your time, talent, and Huskie pride with our youngest Huskies! We’re so proud of these girls and the connections that make our school community so special!

Ever wonder what Mr. Snider would be doing if he weren’t a principal?! We asked our Huskies, and their answers did NOT disappoint! 🐾

From their creative guesses to seeing Mr. Snider bring each role to life, this reel is sure to make you smile! 😂 Which one do YOU think suits him best?

Happy National Principals Month to a principal who can apparently do it ALL! 😉

We are so proud of you, Opal! Your hard work, positive attitude, and the way you shine at school make you so deserving of this recognition. Keep being amazing! We’re so lucky to have you as part of our Huskie family! 💙

✨ Congratulations to our Hemlock Elementary Student of the Month, Opal Smith ⭐

She is kind, helpful, and respectful, bringing so much happiness to her classroom. Always thoughtful of others, she has a special way of making those around her feel valued and included. She makes her classroom a better place simply by being herself, and we’re so happy to celebrate her!

Our 3rd graders traveled back in time yesterday! The Castle Museum of Saginaw County History visited K.C. Ling Elementary as part of their Mobile Outreach Program, bringing Michigan history right into our classrooms!

Students learned about Fur Traders and French Voyagers and explored an important part of Michigan’s past through this engaging, hands-on lesson. What a fun way to bring history to life!

A big thank-you to the Castle Museum for bringing these learning experiences to our Huskies! 💙

There’s nothing quite like the sight of Huskies settling in with a good book! 📖 Today, students across K.C. Ling took some time to slow down, get comfortable, and enjoy the magic of reading during Free Reading Friday.

From cozy corners to classroom nooks, our halls were filled with little readers getting lost in stories, exploring new worlds, and building a lifelong love of books.

Keep turning those pages, Huskies! 🐾
