Happy World Teachers’ Day! 🍎📚

California State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond and the CDE celebrate educators across California and around the world who inspire curiosity, encourage discovery, and help students reach their full potential.

Thank you to California’s teachers for the knowledge, care, and dedication you bring to classrooms every day. Your work makes a lasting difference in the lives of students and communities.

Winning the repeal of WEP and GPO was a milestone — not the finish line.

CalRTA is still fighting for retired educators in Washington, D.C., and Sacramento, protecting pensions and advocating for the retirement security you earned.

The work continues. So does our voice. But it's louder with your support!

(09/17/26) Pre-Loaded messages for Senators - 3-minute outreach!

Congress is considering efforts to include provisions of the SAVE America Act in a budget reconciliation bill, potentially allowing major changes to federal voting requirements to pass the Senate with a simple majority rather than the normal 60-vote.

Tell these senators that significant changes to federal election law deserve full debate and transparency, not to be attached to a budget bill to bypass the Senate’s 60-vote threshold.
