A Day Full of Life at LifeWorks Farm

Hemet USD LifeWorks Farm was alive with energy, offering a vibrant glimpse into the beauty of hands-on learning and nature in action. This is more than just a farm—it is a living, breathing classroom.

The animals brought excitement to every corner. Micro pigs trotted around with curious snorts, ducks waddled and quacked as they explored their surroundings, and chickens clucked busily as they pecked at the ground.

Beyond the animals, the farm itself was thriving. Fruits and vegetables stretched across the plots, leafy greens to ripening produce, everything reflected in the care and dedication that is poured into maintaining this small school farm.

Students had an amazing time during our recent CBI trip! We visited the Temecula mall, where students practiced real-world skills such as shopping, budgeting, and exploring potential employment opportunities. They even talked to the mayor of Temecula in an interview. Afterward, we made a short stop at Kawaii House in Murrieta, where students engaged their fine motor skills and problem-solving abilities while using claw machines to win plushies. It was a fun and engaging experience that combined independence, creativity, and life skills—truly a great day for everyone involved!

Students from two classes participated in a community-based instruction trip to the historic site of the original McDonald's in San Bernardino. During the visit, students and staff learned about the history of McDonald’s and its impact on American culture. The trip also provided students with valuable real-world learning experiences while engaging with the community.
