If you are looking for an alternative to traditional high school, Hemet Unified School District’s Helen Hunt Jackson is the program for you.
At Helen Hunt Jackson we recognize that each individual student comes to us with their own unique abilities and personal goals. The students at Helen Hunt Jackson are looking for an educational program that is flexible enough to meet their individual needs. Whether they are college bound, diploma bound, or seeking ways to recover credits, HHJ students have a common goal—to graduate with a high school diploma that prepares them for their next step in life.
At Helen Hunt Jackson, we can help you recover course credits, improve grades, and graduate on time. If you are college bound, we offer A-G university approved courses. We are committed to working with each individual student and family to create an educational plan tailored to your student’s unique needs. Building personal relationships is an integral part of the Helen Hunt experience. On-going communication between teachers and parents is a cornerstone to our program. We have a slogan we live by…. “We offer options, not obstacles!”
At HHJ we truly believe that all students can achieve their highest potential, but the road to achievement may be different for each student. We know that one size does not fit all. Together we can design a perfect fit for your student—failure is not at option at Helen Hunt Jackson! Helen Hunt Jackson offers a multitude of choices for the high school student. Most courses are offered in a 6, 12, or 18 week format. Students may earn up to 50 credits per semester compared to 30 in a traditional high school program. In addition we offer independent study, on-line and weekly hybrid classes, math labs, one on one and small group instruction.
For 9th and 10th grade students, core subjects are taught two days a week, with class sizes from 10-20 students. These course options allow students to map out a graduation plan that fits their personal goals.
Campuses are located in Hemet, Wi******er, and Idyllwild. Students residing in San Bernardino, Riverside, and San Diego Counties are welcome to apply.
Helen Hunt Jackson program is designed to accommodate personal circumstances, such as health, parenting, and other individual needs. Students may graduate from HHJ, take a few select classes, or make up credits and return to their home schools, then move on to work or college. No matter what their individual needs are, HHJ students exit prepared for the next steps in their bright futures.
We are currently enrolling for the fall of 2010. Applications may be downloads from our web site at www.hhjftlc.org and call the school at 951-765-5103 for an appointment with an administrator to discuss your personal needs.
