Follow on Twitter At HIS, we love OUR PARENTS! Thank you for your support!

This site is operated and maintained by the Helena Intermediate School and is not an official Shelby County Schools website. Our parents play a vital role in the educational process of our students. This is seen in our parents' tremendous involvement in school activities. The HIS PTO contributes thousands of dollars to our school to support the academic and character development of our students. With the proceeds from our many events, our PTO supports the school’s incentive reading program, the technology program, hospitality events for staff and the school’s professional development program for teachers.

October 2nd is Custodian Appreciation Day!
The Helena Intermediate PTO would like to give a huge shout-out to the five amazing custodians who keep our school running every single day! From spotless hallways and classrooms to cleaning up spills and fixing things before we even notice they’re broken, our custodial and maintenance team works hard (often behind the scenes) to make Helena a safe, clean, and welcoming place to learn. THANK YOU to Mr Wallace, Mr Paul, Ms Tammy, Ms Emily, and Ms Ashley! We see you, we appreciate you, and our school wouldn’t be the same without you! Parents, please remind your little ones to tell our custodians “thank you” when they see them at school tomorrow! A smile and a kind word go a long way!
