Delta Ink A showcase for writers of all ages to share their own personal tales of Delta living.

Inspired by programs such as “This American Life” and “Tales from the South,” Delta Ink seeks to unite people around authentic stories of Delta living. We believe that when personal stories are told in an uninterrupted setting, barriers are broken, bridges are crossed, and hearts are enlightened. Whether you’re a young student discovering your identity growing up in rural America, a Delta native p

ossessing local knowledge, or a newcomer integrating outside experiences into your newfound home, Delta Ink wants to hear your story, and wants other people to hear it too.

Our first Youth Writer's Workshop was a huge success! The weather could not have been better, nor could the company have been any more awesome. We began the day reading and writing by the Mississippi River, then headed over to the Delta Cultural Center to get inspired by their phenomenal exhibits. S/O to all who participated! We can't wait to hear the finished products during at annual King Biscuit Show in October!!

Hello friends! If you haven't heard the good news yet, Delta Ink is taking submissions for our 2014 King Biscuit Blues Festival Show at the Miller Hotel on Friday, October 10th from 6-7PM. Send your narratives of 1500 words or less or poetry to [email protected] by Friday, October 3rd. Shout-out to the Delta Cultural Center for partnering with us on this!!!

Hey friends! We've been on hiatus for a bit but we're coming back (and better than ever!) as part of the 2013 Helena Holiday Festival!

Submit your own true story of 1500 words or less to [email protected] by Friday, November 29th in order to be considered for the December 7th show. Holiday-themed stories are encouraged, but not required. Submit your entry in .doc or PDF form to [email protected] and put your lastname.firstname as the subject line.

Join Carol Birth, Reading Instructor at Phillips County Community College, and Jackie Markovich, English teacher at Lee High School, as we walk through strategies and exercises to unleash your inner story. If you’ve ever had an experience you’ve always wanted to write down but never had the time, join us on Saturday, December 15th for a free 90-minute writing workshop. All you need is a journal/notebook, pen, and your favorite Delta memories.
