Mountainside Montessori

Mountainside Montessori is seeking a full-time Toddler Assistant Teacher. If you are interested in working with kids ages 18 months to 3 years old and a creative, fun staff please contact us.

Miss Joslyn and Miss Annie have been busy this week getting school ready for the school year ahead.

The health and well-being of our families and our broader community is the most important factor. With that in mind, we are closing Mountainside Montessori, effective immediately We have children and family members of children with compromised immunity. Some of our families have already begun social distancing and have taken their children from our school already. We are deeply committed to our community's long term wellbeing and based on research, it appears that the greatest chance of containment has resulted from limited public exposure. For that reason, we are no longer relying on cleaning and instead have moved to closure to do our part in the spread of this virus.

The school will be closed for an undetermined amount of time. We will be monitoring recommendations from public health officials and community leaders to determine when reopening is most appropriate. Through this time we will send regular emails to update you on the closure.

In the coming days, we will be working to provide you a list of online resources that can support your child’s continued learning at home. In addition, we are examining an online platform to try to reach the children daily. We will send you updated information on the platform over the coming days.

One of our greatest joys is to greet your children each morning and to watch as they learn and explore in our Montessori environment. We will miss all of you and look forward to the time we can be together again as a school community.

To help us ensure that this important communication has reached each family, we are requesting that you please go into Brightwheel and enter a message that your child will be absent. We will follow up individually this afternoon with any families we do not receive updates from via Brightwheel.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact either Joslyn or Annie. We will make ourselves as available as possible.

Though this is a challenging time, we feel blessed to be a part of a Mountainside community and thank you all for your support as we navigate this time together.

We've had a great start to the summer here at Mountainside. We've cooked food from many lands, learned about bugs, and explored a multitude of handcrafts. Thanks families for a great few weeks!

We just want to give a HUGE shout-out to Hobart Sales and Service and the Caissey Family for helping us get a commercial dishwasher in our school!! 🍽️ Now we can spend more time doing the thing we all love...being with the children. 🙌🏽 If you are ever in need of quality high-end or commercial appliances this is the place!

Our elementary and soon-to-be elementary friends enjoyed a fun outing on Friday. Thanks to Miss Kristin, Miss Joslyn, and Miss Heidi for taking them to see some Mountainside alumni Irish dancing, on a tour of the Capitol Building, and on a nice sunny walk back to school!
