-✨ What stories are written in the stars? ✨
On June 19 and 20, experience the night sky as you’ve never seen it before at Montana Learning Center’s Beyond the Big Sky—featuring some of the largest, state-of-the-art telescopes in Montana.
The evening begins at sunset with Native Skies, Native Stories, a captivating presentation by nationally respected astronomy educator James Manning. Through astronomy, culture, and storytelling, James will take you on an illuminating journey through the stars—and the stories that connect us all.
James is the retired Executive Director of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific and previously led public outreach at the science operations center for the Hubble Space Telescope. He has also served as Director of the Taylor Planetarium at the Museum of the Rockies and President of the International Planetarium Society.
After the presentation, step into MLC’s observatories and gaze deep into the universe. Montana Learning Center staff and volunteers from the Helena Astronomical Society will operate the telescopes, guide your viewing experience, and answer your questions.
