It’s Helena High School and Capital High School administrators’ turn to host all AA high school principals, assistant principals, and ADs for the annual Principal’s Conference!
So far today from our HPS crew:
-CHS Assistant Principal Kathy Kidder gave a great presentation on student, staff, and district belonging.
-HHS and CHS Indian Education for All specialists Terri Johnson and Joe Pichardo spoke to the great things they are doing with the program in our schools and for our students.
We look forward to what’s in store for this group over the next day and a half!
Also, big thanks to MHSA - Montana High School Association for hosting in their new building!

Sun Run registration is live! Over the past 11 years, the Helena Sun Run has facilitated the installation of solar electric systems at the Lewis & Clark Library, the Holter Museum of Art, Carroll College, Central School, Jim Darcy School, Bryant School, and Helena Food Share. The total installed capacity has now reached 300 kW, enough to meet the electricity needs of 300 Montana homes!
In 2026, we are again partnering with Helena Public Schools to help fund a 50-kW photovoltaic array at Smith Elementary School (Go Sabers!).
There are a number of ways you can help out:
1) Register to run in either the 5k or 1 mile event (kids 12-and-under are free!). The first 200 to register will receive a commemorative technical t-shirt:
https://runsignup.com/Race/MT/Helena/HelenaRunfortheSun
2) Donate to the cause! 100% of net proceeds go to the solar installation. All donations are tax deductible:

3) Volunteer on race day! Please email [email protected] if you would like to help out.
4) If you know of a business that would like to sponsor (with their logo on the shirts), please let us know: [email protected]
Thank you, and we hope to see you on 10/3!
