Nanny Responsibilities
Organize creative activities and educational games (e.g. drawing, crafting and puppet games)
Prepare children’s meals and feed them (including bottle-feeding for babies)
Change diapers and bathe infants
Help older children wash up and take baths
Schedule nap times
Teach children appropriate social behaviors, such as being respectful to each other and helping out with chores
Transport children to and from school and extracurricular activities
Tidy up play areas and children’s rooms
Assist young students with homework
Ensure children’s safety during indoors and outdoors activities
Take care of children in case of injury or illness
Perform housekeeping tasks as needed

What does a nanny do?

A Nanny provides children with the care they need so that parents can focus on work and other responsibilities. They provide daily care for a child everything from bathing, getting dressed, brushing teeth, fixing hair, prepare all meals and snacks, plan age appropriate activities, play outside, plan playdates, plan field trips like going to the library for story time or to the zoo. Most are responsible for household chores, such as children’s laundry, tidying up the areas that were played in that day. Taking out trash and empty diaper pails, sweep or vacuum when needed in kid related areas. Taking child to and from doctors and dentist appointments. When caring for older children, helping with homework and taking to after school activities! A nanny is there to be the extra set of hands you need to take care of all child related task!

Do you have a nanny camera? You should!! I will not screen anyone who says they will not work in a home with cameras! There is nothing your nanny should be doing without you there that she can’t do with you there!

"Southern Nannies Plus has been a life saver for our family. We have struggled for over 1 year to try to find someone who would be a good fit for our 14 month old. My husband and I are both physicians and I have not been able to go back to work because of this. We contacted different national agencies and also attempted to find the right people on different popular websites such as Care.com. Many of the candidates were unreliable or had concerning issues that we discovered later. We got so desperate that we even contacted an agency in Britain called Greycoat and Lumleys but visa issues prevented them from finding us a British nanny. It has been a huge struggle and waste of time. Rachel has been wonderful from the very beginning. She is extremely thorough and put a lot of effort into screening candidates and thoroughly evaluating their references. She interviewed the candidates in person and only introduced us to two people that she personally liked a lot and trusted. It was obvious that she got to know them very well before recommending them. The application she had the nannies fill out and the contract she created before the hiring process was extremely thorough and detailed. I wish we had found Rachel a lot earlier. I would highly recommend this agency to anyone looking for a highly qualified nanny."
