Southern Nannies Plus has been connecting families with exceptional nannies since 2001, and I wanted our website to better reflect who we are today—professional, personal, and still built around the same belief that finding the right nanny is about so much more than filling a position.

Southern Nannies Plus has a nanny position available with an hourly wage of $15-$20. The position requires working 7 days on and 7 days off, beginning in February 2026. Ideal candidates will have experience caring for infants and be able to pass a background check and driver's license verification. Additionally, they must provide professional references and have reliable transportation. A non-smoking status is also required for this role.

Nanny Responsibilities
Organize creative activities and educational games (e.g. drawing, crafting and puppet games)
Prepare children’s meals and feed them (including bottle-feeding for babies)
Change diapers and bathe infants
Help older children wash up and take baths
Schedule nap times
Teach children appropriate social behaviors, such as being respectful to each other and helping out with chores
Transport children to and from school and extracurricular activities
Tidy up play areas and children’s rooms
Assist young students with homework
Ensure children’s safety during indoors and outdoors activities
Take care of children in case of injury or illness
Perform housekeeping tasks as needed

What does a nanny do?

A Nanny provides children with the care they need so that parents can focus on work and other responsibilities. They provide daily care for a child everything from bathing, getting dressed, brushing teeth, fixing hair, prepare all meals and snacks, plan age appropriate activities, play outside, plan playdates, plan field trips like going to the library for story time or to the zoo. Most are responsible for household chores, such as children’s laundry, tidying up the areas that were played in that day. Taking out trash and empty diaper pails, sweep or vacuum when needed in kid related areas. Taking child to and from doctors and dentist appointments. When caring for older children, helping with homework and taking to after school activities! A nanny is there to be the extra set of hands you need to take care of all child related task!
