🚵 Trail to Bayanihan: Filmmaker: Cat Aeppel

“Trail to Bayanihan” follows Sam’s journey as she pedals through diverse landscapes, celebrating the joy of biking and the power of community. Along the way, she discovers how a bike can bridge distances and forge deep human connections. As she explores breathtaking terrains and bonds with local riders, including the passionate Baguio crew, the film highlights the Filipino biking community’s role in shaping her journey. Grounded in her search for cultural roots, “Trail to Bayanihan” ultimately reveals the wider family Sam finds through biking, transforming her quest for heritage into a celebration of shared humanity.

This week in Community Program, our theme was CONFIDENCE ✨

🚪🚩On Monday, girls completed individual challenges of their choice and practiced flagging so there weren't any "barn-doors" on the wall.

📸On Tuesday, we wrapped up the final day of our trails project with Prickly Pear Land Trust Stay tuned for details about the PhotoVoice project!

🚵🏼‍♀️Thursday rounded out the week with our first ride to the trails! Girls rocked it on the skills course up Davis Gulch.

🎉The Women's Adventure Film Tour is coming to Helena! 🎉

WHAT: Girls Thrive will be hosting the Women's Adventure Film Tour (WAFT)! The WAFT is a celebration of the inspiring women around us who are doing extraordinary things in the name of adventure. Every year, WAFT’s selection of unique films is carefully chosen to show incredible women achieving their personally adventurous goals. Being adventurous doesn’t always have to mean being the fastest, going the highest, or doing the most extreme things. Adventure for most of us is stepping outside our comfort zone and climbing our own personal Everest. The films showcase real stories about women from a variety of cultures and sports around the world.

WHEN: November 7th, 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. Films from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

WHERE: HMS Auditorium in Helena, MT

We hope you join us on November 7th for a night of epic films! We will also have food trucks, a student photography showcase, and a silent auction to benefit Girls Thrive. See you there!

Our theme this week at Community Program was BRAVERY 🧗🏼‍♀️

🧟‍♀️🦖On Monday, girls used zombie and T-Rex arms with swivel toes to move efficiently along their chosen challenge routes. Roars of confidence optional, but encouraged!

👟On Tuesday, everyone returned to Little Moab Trail and moved up the working line to continue the trails project with Prickly Pear Land Trust. It's so awesome to improve a trail within out community for everyone to use. We also got to smell some ponderosa pine trees! (IYKYK 👃🏼)

🚵🏼‍♀️Thursday wrapped up our week with opportunities to execute bravery at the Vigilante Bike Park. Our bike skills are increasing!

At GT this week, our theme was RESILIENCE 💪🏼

🌈On Monday, we "tasted" the rainbow climbing wall by finding appropriately challenging routes and falling with expertise. Climb on!

🐈On Tuesday, the team charged up Little Moab Trail to move rock and lop off tree branches while watching a biker experience our fresh updates and meeting a friendly neighborhood cat. We also started our Photovoice project and starting taking pictures of our experience. Thanks Rut Mountain Runs , The North Face , and Prickly Pear Land Trust for this opportunity!

🪽Thursday greeted us with resilience and the chance to navigate through town where we executed extra confidence-boosting techniques and finished with sweaty "angel wings".

Season Kick-Off Party Recap!🩵💚🧡

Thank you to everyone who came to our Season Kick-Off Party at the beginning of September! We had a lovely evening of fun, food, story telling and music, and moving our bodies. One of our GT participants even wrote and sang a song about her experience with Girls Thrive!

The Women's Adventure Film Tour is coming to Helena, and we're looking for sponsors! 🏂🏼🧗🏼‍♀️🛩️

Girls Thrive is hosting the Women's Adventure Film Tour (WAFT) at the HMS Auditorium on Saturday, November 7th 2026. The Women’s Adventure Film Tour (WAFT) is a celebration of the inspiring women around us who are doing extraordinary things in the name of adventure. The films showcase real stories about women from a variety of cultures and sports around the world.

This film festival will be an end-of-year fundraiser for Girls Thrive, as well as a student photography showcase for our Community Program Fall Session participants.

Girls Thrive is hosting an Empowerment Week in Helena, and we want YOU to be a part of it! 💪🏼

Do you want to host an event, class, or community gathering for Empowerment Week? Do you know a business who would be a perfect fit? Read on for how to participate! 👇🏼

From November 1st-7th, Girls Thrive will be hosting an Empowerment Week for girls and women in Helena. We hope to offer ways for girls and women in our community to gather, learn, and grow with local businesses and community partners. This week will culminate in a film festival fundraiser and student photography showcase.
