Typical or divergent?

Our environment shapes us.

The single greatest predictor of a person's future wellbeing can be found in their childhood Attachment experiences. Specifically, in the first seven years, while Social-Emotional Learning development is peaking, important cognitive 'pathways' are being laid for 'higher learning'. And before the prefrontal cortex comes 'on-line' enabling a person to filter information and access Integrated Brain Function skills freely. And again, in the adolescent years, when the prefrontal cortex 'shuts down' for pruning, a time when the Learner requires independence and connection with trusted adults.

This is no secret. The literature on Secure Attachment has been around for a long time. Yet, for some reason, this has not reached the mainstream model of education, where young children are separated (in many cases by force and bribes) from their primary caregiver, placed into a setting where there is no 'stronger, older and wiser' adult to meet their Basic Human "nurturing" Needs for wellbeing and healthy development.

Imagine an education model with a Trusted Adult attachment figure who can meet the Basic Human Needs of each Learner.
