- Coach Bill Rucker and his Alden-Hebron Green Giants would start two-a-day football practices on Wednesday morning August 18, 1976. The Green Giants would be playing a full 9 game schedule of both Frosh-Soph and Varsity football games on the same day for the first time in school history.
After a few weeks of two-a-day practices, the Green Giants would have their second annual "Soap Scrimmage" the Saturday before our opening game. Also new for 1976, the Green Giants would be wearing new home and road uniforms, and our helmets would have new Green and Black stripes along with our new GIANTS helmet decal for our opening game on Saturday September 11, 1976.
