The Electrical Training Academy is proud to congratulate the Newark Electrical JATC on receiving the prestigious AJ Award at NTI!

From 35 apprentices meeting in a union hall in 2017 to over 1,100+ apprentices today, Newark has experienced rapid, sustained growth—cementing its place as one of the fastest-growing electrical apprenticeship programs in the Nation.

To support this incredible trajectory, they have expanded into a state-of-the-art 92,000 sq. ft. training facility in Heath, Ohio (located in the former Sears building at Indian Mound Mall), with the first construction phase now complete.

We are thrilled to see our partners transforming workforce development in Ohio and building a world-class pipeline for the electrical industry!

We’re excited to see Google expand its investment in the skilled trades and help prepare more than 300,000 workers for high-demand careers across the country.

At Newark Electrical JATC, we’re proud to be training the next generation of electricians through apprenticeship, pre-apprenticeship, and high school workforce programs. Investments like this strengthen the pipeline of skilled workers needed to power Ohio’s future.

Thomas Arnold, a third-year apprentice with IBEW Local 1105, was seriously injured in a head-on car accident in May. He's out of work recovering, and his family—including his 7-month-old daughter—is facing financial hardship.

We had a great time visiting Mid-East CTC and connecting with their Electrical Technologies, Power Line, and HVAC/R students.

Our goal is simple—show students what a career in the electrical trade actually looks like day-to-day, and how the apprenticeship can open doors to real opportunities right here in our region.

From hands-on demonstrations to conversations about wages, benefits, and career growth, these students got a closer look at what it means to build a future in the electrical industry.
