Our Grow & Go group took a field trip to explore public transportation in Sonoma County! 🚍🚆
The students practiced planning a trip to Windsor using the public bus and then boarded the SMART Train. Along the way, they learned an important real-world lesson: public transit isn’t always on schedule, and sometimes you have to move quickly to make your connection! We made it just in time. 🎉
After a short train ride, we stopped at Starbucks for a refreshment before walking to Windsor Bowling Alley for some fun.
✨ Important things our students learned:
• Youth ride FREE on both Sonoma County buses and the SMART Train.
• Kids can bowl FREE all summer long at Windsor Bowling Alley (2 games every day)! Create a Kids Bowl Free account at kidsbowlfree.com to participate.
Experiences like these help students build confidence, gain independence, and learn how to navigate their community. We are so proud of their hard work and enthusiasm throughout the day! 💙

HJH Fine Arts 2 Students teach 2nd graders at HES a print-making lesson. These 2nd graders in Mrs. Hadley’s class just finished their reports on different animals within the Russian River Watershed. Our HJH students carved a print representing each student’s animal and presented it to them to make prints. The 2nd graders were very excited to print the animals they had studied!

6th graders = engineers in action 💨⚡️
Students dive into renewable energy by designing and building their own wind turbines! They explore how wind turns into electricity, test different blade designs, collect data, and improve their models along the way.
It’s all about hands-on learning, teamwork, and creative problem-solving—just like real engineers 🌍🔧
