The Sonoma County Office of Education (SCOE) is hosting a candidate information session for anyone interested in running for School Board in the November election. The session is on Monday, June 15 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the TLC Building at SCOE (5340 Skylane Blvd., Santa Rosa, CA 59403). Anyone interested in registering is asked to do so by June 10th by either using the QR code on the poster or by visiting scoe.org

The latest episode of HUSD's podcast, HoundTracks, has been posted, just in time for the end of the school year. In this episode, Superintendent Vanden Heuvel is joined by two alumni, Ruby Leffew and Allie Espinoza, to talk about their first year away at school - Ruby is attending Virginia Tech and Allie is attending UC Berkeley - and what advice they have for our graduating seniors.

Did you know two School Board seats are up for election this November? The Healdsburg Unified School District made the switch to a by-Trustee-Area election model last year using the map pictured here, and Trustee Areas 1 and 5 are up for election this year. The filing period for potential candidates is from July 13-August 7, with an extended filing period from August 10-12 if no current Trustees file paperwork to run.

The final countdown to the end of the year has begun and nothing ramps up graduation season quite like the senior class walkthroughs at the two elementary campuses. Our HES and FMC students always give our outgoing seniors such a wonderful send off. One more week to go!

This week is Classified School Employees Week, celebrating all the classified staff members who make our schools the warm, inviting, and nurturing places they are for our students, staff, and community. Our classified staff keep our campuses clean, and when things break they are the ones who drop everything to come in and fix them, whether it be repairing a leak or a chrome book. They keep things running smoothly from our offices, support our teachers and students in and out of the classroom, keep our students fed, and transport them safely to and from school. Please join us in thanking each and every one of them for all the amazing work they do!
