Good afternoon,
My name is George Theis and I am running for a 3 year term for Hazlet Township Board of Education. I have children in 2nd and 3rd grade. I also have a godson in 1st and my goddaughter will be in kindergarten 22-23 school year.
I volunteer coach for Hazlet United Soccer Association (HUSA) and Hazlet Youth Athletic League (HYAL). I am a Executive Board Administrator for HUSA, and this summer I I negotiated a new roof for the snack stand, a new fence around the soccer fields and donations of life saving AEDs for HUSA. This was done all by donations at no cost to HUSA. I also volunteer for Raine Foundation multiple times a year.

In April I interviewed and was voted on to the Board Of Education to fill a vacant seat. I am now running for a full 3 year term. I believe schools should stay apolitical; partisan politics has no place in our classrooms. I am against CRT in any form.
Now on to the mask mandate, I am against the mask mandate fully. As a parent to young children I am fully aware of the challenges it poses on them and their education. What works for one doesn't work for another. Local BOE, school districts and parents should have a say on masks. I feel parents should be fully involved in their children's education. Unfortunately the mandates that were sent down from Trenton must be followed, and if you want real change it must start there.

I work hard at volunteering to try to make sure all the children and families of Hazlet have all of the advantages to succeed in the future.
No matter what happens in this election I will continue to volunteer and give all I can to this community. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope everyone stays healthy and happy.

The difficult, challenging and unprecedented 2020-2021 school year is over! We have to continue to work hard for the children and residents of Hazlet for a safe full return in September. I will continue to volunteer my time to make sure ALL the children of Hazlet have the safest and best education possible. VOTE GEORGE THEIS NOVEMBER 5, 2021!
