Raising awareness about the 988 Su***de & Crisis LIfeline and reminding all that mental health support is available when we need it.

This year’s theme is “988 Reasons: Your reason is reason enough.”
One of the most important messages of 988 Day is that you do not have to wait until you are in a crisis to reach out for help. The 988 Su***de and Crisis lifeline provides free confidential support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

To support ongoing school safety, we will be holding a scheduled safety drill in the coming days. Students and staff will practice response routines so everyone knows what to do in an emergency. This is only a drill, and no actual threat is present.

Our students recently had the opportunity to welcome Tessa Haynes from Coastal Pines Technical College for an informative and engaging visit focused on an important question: Should I go to college?
Tessa spoke with students who are considering whether college is part of their future and helped them explore their options. Students asked thoughtful and important questions about college, careers, and what their next steps might look like.
We are especially excited that several of our students took the next step and completed applications to begin college classes! 🎉
We are proud of our students for thinking about their futures, asking questions, and taking steps toward reaching their goals. We appreciate Tessa Haynes and Coastal Pines Technical College for helping our students see the possibilities that lie ahead! 💙🎓

We encourage all students and parents to download the free “See Something, Send Something” mobile app. Provided by the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency, the app allows students, parents, and community members to anonymously report concerns involving:

• Weapons
• Drugs
• Bullying
• Mental health
• Other school safety concerns

Reports may be submitted 24/7 and are monitored by trained emergency professionals.

This week, Mr. Lovett, one of Coastal Plains’ counselors, encouraged students to set SMART goals. SMART goals help students turn their ideas into clear, achievable plans. The acronym SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. By using SMART goals, students can stay focused, track their progress, and work toward success.
Esta semana, el Sr. Lovett, uno de los consejeros de Coastal Plains, animó a los estudiantes a establecer metas SMART. As we gear up for the FY27 school year, the Coastal Plains High School team came together for our annual Staff PLC! 💙📚

We took time to celebrate the incredible gains our students and staff made this past year, reflected on our successes, and collaborated in breakout groups to plan for an even stronger year ahead. We're excited about the goals we've set and the opportunities that await our students.

A special thank you to Flaming H Meats for providing a delicious meal that kept us fueled throughout the day! 🍽️

Due to moving into our new building located at 71 Burketts Ferry Road, Hazlehurst, Georgia, we will be open for students who need to take quizzes and tests only this week. Please work at home virtually. Next week we will be open Tuesday and Wednesday with normal hours.
Debido a nuestra mudanza a nuestro nuevo edificio ubicado en 71 Burketts Ferry Road, Hazlehurst, Georgia, esta semana solo atenderemos a los estudiantes que necesiten realizar exámenes y pruebas.
