🍎 Meet the Teacher: Brent Keller!

Meet Brent Keller, Health, Physical Education, and Personal Fitness teacher! 🏃‍♂️🏋️‍♂️

Brent lives in Goodrich, Michigan, and loves being part of the MVCA community for many reasons. One of his favorites is getting to work alongside what he considers one of the best elective teams in Michigan! 💙

Outside of the virtual classroom, Brent is a big sports and outdoor enthusiast. He loves hunting, fishing, and just about every sport there is! 🎣⚾🏈

⚾ Fun Fact: Brent’s love of sports goes well beyond being a fan. He is a member of both the Detroit Men’s Baseball Hall of Fame and the Albion College Athletic Hall of Fame! 🏆

We’re proud to have Brent on the MVCA team and thankful for the energy, experience, and passion he brings to our students!

Meet Julie Francis, 8th Grade Math Intervention teacher! ➗📚

Julie has been part of the MVCA family for almost a decade! She loves working closely with students and classroom teachers to help strengthen math skills, build confidence, and support student success. 💙

Outside of MVCA, Julie is a proud mom of three and a grandmother! Her family includes an author, a dancer, and a soccer player, so there’s always something exciting going on. ⚽📖💃

When she has some free time, Julie loves visiting with family, hiking, camping, traveling, and spending time outdoors. 🥾🏕️🌲

We’re grateful for the years of dedication, encouragement, and support Julie has given to our students and the MVCA community!

🍎 Meet the Teacher: Hillary Rose!

Meet Hillary Rose, High School U.S. History, Archaeology, and Anthropology teacher! 📚🏺🌎

Hillary loves helping students explore history, culture, and science, especially when she can bring all three together in one lesson! Making connections across subjects is one of her favorite parts of teaching.

Now in her 12th year of teaching, Hillary has been part of the MVCA family since 2018. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University and her master’s degree from the University of Leicester. Over the years, she has worked with thousands of MVCA students through her classes, state testing, and her role as National Honor Society co-chair. One of her favorite parts of MVCA is getting the opportunity to meet students and families from all across Michigan. 💙

Outside of teaching, Hillary works and volunteers at museums, spends time with her husband and two daughters, plays with her two Siberian Huskies, and enjoys reading plenty of historical fiction and nonfiction. 🐾📖🏛️

We’re thankful for Hillary’s dedication and the curiosity and love of learning she brings to our students every day!

Count Day is extremely important to our school, and we need every student to participate. 90% of MVCA’s funding comes from students logging in on Count Day.

✅ TODAY, please make sure your student:

▶️Scrolls to the Course Carousel
▶️Clicks into EVERY course to open the course homepage

💻 Be sure to click every course to count!

If a student does not log in to each course on Count Day, a Student Support Advisor will reach out.

Meet Emily Stefanich, 6th Grade World Geography teacher, who is celebrating her 5th year at MVCA! 🌎📚

Over the years, Emily has come to appreciate the incredible community of leaders, educators, students, and families that make MVCA so special. She feels privileged to be part of a school that works hard to help students and families find success, compassion, and a true sense of belonging. 💙

Emily is also grateful for the support and encouragement she receives from her fellow teachers and staff members, making MVCA a community she is proud to call home.

When she’s not exploring the world with her students in the virtual classroom, Emily enjoys traveling, reading, and painting. ✈️📖🎨
