We eased on down the yellow brick road—celebrating the whirlwind journey of our 2025–2026 year. Our Drama Gala was a heartfelt evening filled with performances, awards, laughter, and a few bittersweet goodbyes.
We honored our outgoing Drama leaders, whose passion and dedication have shaped our program in unforgettable ways, and we welcomed our incoming leadership team.
Like Oz itself, this night reminded us there’s power in every one of us—and that together, we create magic.
Here’s to the memories we’ve made and the chapter ahead. 💚🎭
🎟️: Nearly 1,000 tickets sold!!

The strong performances and thought-provoking staging in Theatre and Dance at Wayne’s “Paradise Lost” left us awestruck! 🍎
The experience was made even more impactful thanks to a post-show talkback with its cast and crew—just for us. We loved hearing from Hazel Park Drama alum Jeremiah Kemp (‘25), who worked on set construction and lighting for this production. 🎭

We had a blast bringing Detroit Opera to Hazel Park! While Hoover Elementary’s youngest students enjoyed an interactive, musical retelling of “Jack and the Beanstalk”, our teens got to observe and then discuss the entire process, from adaptation to ex*****on, load in to load out! 🫘

We traveled to Meadow Brook Theatre to experience “Come From Away", a musical dramedy spotlighting the relationships between passengers, flight crews, and ordinary townsfolk when 38 planes were diverted to Gander, Newfoundland, on September 11, 2001.
We also deepened our understanding of the production process by engaging in a talkback with cast members and touring the backstage! ✈️🫂
