🚜🍂 A little farm fun with our Pre-K crew! 🧡

Ms. Chasidy’s Pre-K friends had the BEST time exploring Lyon Family Farms! A day full of fun, laughter, sweet memories, and fall adventures with our friends! 🎃🌻

✨ We’re growing our CEC team! ✨

We’re looking for caring, dependable childcare professionals who love children and would be a great addition to our CEC family! 💛

Our ideal candidate has Monday–Friday availability, is flexible, dependable, and has previous experience working with children or in an early childhood setting. Experience is definitely a plus, but we’re willing to train the right person who is eager to learn and ready to jump in as part of our team!

Cooler weather = more time for outdoor fun! 🍂

Ms. Sadie’s and Ms. Kennedy’s little friends enjoyed the beautiful weather with some playground fun and sidewalk chalk! 🛝🌈🖍️

Nothing beats fresh air, big smiles, and a little creativity! 💛

❄️🐻‍❄️ How do Arctic animals stay warm in freezing temperatures? 🦭🐋

Ms. Chasidy’s Pre-K class is learning all about animal habitats, and today our little scientists explored how animals survive the icy Arctic!

Many Arctic animals have a thick layer of fat called blubber that acts as insulation and helps keep their bodies warm. To see how it works, Ms. Chasidy created a “blubber glove” using a bag filled with Crisco! 🧤❄️

Each child placed one hand in a regular bag and the other inside the “blubber glove,” then dipped both hands into ice-cold water. 🥶 They were able to feel the difference for themselves and discover how that extra layer of fat helps protect Arctic animals from the cold!

We love hands-on learning that lets our Pre-K friends see, feel, and experience science in action! 💙🔬

🍎 Learning the letter Aa in Preschool 3’s! 🍎

Our friends have been busy practicing their letter Aa formation this week! Some worked on their writing boards, while others got a little messy practicing their A’s in shaving cream. 🫧

💡 Did you know? Sensory play is an important part of early childhood learning! When children practice letters using materials like shaving cream, sand, or playdough, they’re engaging multiple senses at once. This hands-on approach can help strengthen fine motor skills, build letter recognition, and reinforce the movements needed for writing.

Learning doesn’t always have to happen with a pencil and paper - sometimes the messiest learning is the most fun! 💛

Open House was a success! Thank you to all of our families who came out today! It was so wonderful to see all of your smiling faces and watch everyone getting excited for the new school year.

We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to our classrooms for a year filled with learning, laughter, growth, and lots of fun. Here’s to an amazing 2026–2027 school year! ❤️📚✏️

Due to flooding at Hazel Green United Methodist Church and in surrounding areas, CEC will have a delayed opening on Monday, June 8. We will open at 9:00 AM.

The safety of our families and staff is our top priority, and we want to allow additional time for water levels to recede and for road conditions to improve.
