Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative The Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative (KVEC) is one of eight education cooperatives in Kentucky

KVEC is finding innovation in rural education (FIRE) with 99 schools in 17 eastern Kentucky school districts. Through core strategies of personalized learning, teacher & leader effectiveness, and college & career success, KVEC is sparking K-12 education as an economic development engine in the mountains. The Appalachian Renaissance Initiative program implementation strategies include:
•Creating p

ersonalized learning environments in collaboration with students, parents and teachers
•Implementing Next Generation Classrooms in all participating schools
•Student participation in personalized learning and teacher professional development opportunities that focus on personalized learning
•Participation in P-20 Innovation Lab
Teacher and Leader academies
•Perpetuating Excellence in Teaching, Leadership and Learning (PETLL) framework
•Implementation and use of the
Perpetual Data Analysis System (PDAS)
•Development and implementation of social learning network for Central Appalachia, www.theholler.org
•Student engagement with instructional software focused on career and college success

Kentucky just landed in the TOP 10 nationally for reading AND math gains (2022–2025), according to the Kentucky Department of Education.

Three of our own KVEC member districts got called out by name as schools "on the rise":
