The Kentucky Office of Rural Health (KORH), established in 1991, is a federal-state partnership authorized by federal legislation. The Center of Excellence in Rural Health serves as the federally designated Kentucky Office of Rural Health. The mission of KORH is to support the health and well-being of Kentuckians by promoting access to rural health services. The program provides a framework for linking small rural communities with local state and federal resources while working toward long-term solutions to rural health issues. The KORH assists clinicians, administrators and consumers find ways to improve communications, finances and access to quality health care while insuring that funding agencies and policy makers are made aware of the needs of rural communities.

📢 Organizations across Kentucky: A new opportunity is now available to help shape the future of chronic disease prevention and management in rural communities!

The Rural Community Hubs for Chronic Care Innovation (RCH) program, a partnership between the Kentucky Rural Health Transformation Program and the Foundation For a Healthy Kentucky, is seeking Hub Lead Organizations to serve as regional coordinators, bringing together partners from health care, education, business, government, faith communities, and community organizations to improve health outcomes with an initial focus on diabetes and obesity.

Applications are now open for organizations in the following ADD regions:
• Barren River
• Kentucky River
• Pennyrile
• Cumberland Valley
• Lincoln Trail
• Bluegrass
• Northern Kentucky
• FIVCO
• KIPDA
• Green River
• Buffalo Trace
• Gateway

Scott Moore with WMK Law Group will host a session this year! Scott is a founding partner of WMK Law Group and has served as an active EMT for more than 30 years. A licensed attorney in Massachusetts and Illinois, he specializes in human resources, employment law, reimbursement, and compliance. Scott has held executive leadership roles in multiple Massachusetts ambulance services and now serves as HR and Operations Consultant for the American Ambulance Association and as a panel member for the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services. He is certified as a PHR, SHRM-CP, and Certified Ambulance Compliance Officer (CACO).

📸 Last week, the Kentucky Office of Rural Health's Workforce and Loan Repayment Specialist, Janice Vance, had the opportunity to attend the 2026 Kentucky Primary Care Association (KPCA) Conference and connect with health care professionals from across the Commonwealth.

From discussing workforce challenges to sharing resources that support recruitment, retention, and loan repayment opportunities, Janice connected with those working every day to improve access to care in Kentucky communities.

Events like this conference are a great reminder that strengthening Kentucky's rural health workforce takes collaboration, partnership, and a shared commitment to the people and communities we serve. đź’Ş

It’s a week of learning and connection in Louisville!

Kentucky Office of Rural Health Director Matt Coleman and Flex Coordinator Medina Tipton are attending the National Association of Rural Health Clinics Fall Institute this week in Louisville, KY, connecting with rural health partners, exchanging ideas, and learning alongside colleagues from across the country.

We’re excited to be representing Kentucky and bringing home new ideas and perspectives to help strengthen and support rural health care across the Commonwealth!
