Fun first week with a packed gym filled with summer athletes. First week is never easy with a little Gen Prep, but the kids kept showing up at 6am ready to work.

All age groups (even 8th graders), boys and girls, variety of sports, in season and out of season athletes in early Friday morning to get some work in. Even some difference makers for the football team up early getting ready for their homecoming game tonight. No one tells them they have to come in. There is no punishment for not making it to workouts. Just highly motivated kids who want to make a difference for their team and their school. A beautiful sight.

Max out day for squat will always be one of my favorite days of the year. The energy in the weight room during this day is unlike anything else in sports and competition. It seems like everyone in there is in there for 2 main reasons… push more than you did last time and be the best teammate you can be by cheering everyone else on. Lots of bell ringing and smiles this morning which is great to see.
Everyone’s maxes are going up, but I took a look at some of the morning crew’s numbers. If for some odd reason you are trying to find a reason to come into the weight room, take a look at some of the results these kids are seeing just from the past 7 months.

Our dedicated winter crew! These athletes were up by 6am and in the weight room all winter. Had a lot of snowy chilly mornings and they were still there ready to grind. Getting them a t shirt was the least we could do for hitting at least 70% of their lifts and creating a winning culture in the weight room. It was our first year partnering with the HAMHWE Sports Med Program and I had an absolute blast with this group. Very excited for many more years of this!

Shoutout to our shirt getters for hitting 70% of their winter lifts! We will be speed testing on Monday next week, and doing our lift testing on Wednesday. These will be the days you get the chance for your name on the proud, but most importantly hit some new PRs. If you are planning on participating in the S&C Program, I would highly recommend coming in next week so I can get some on you for our next 6 week program before spring sports start up. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Reminder that lifting on Wednesday will be at 8am! Obviously, no workouts on Friday this week. Don’t forget to bring clothes to go outside just in case.

Happy Thanksgiving all! Reminder to all athletes 9th-12th, boys and girls, in season and out of season kids, that our winter S&C program will be back Monday (11/30) at 6am. It will be a testing day so get your mind right! Enjoy the day and be safe!
