Did you know today wraps up Teacher Appreciation week? We thought this was the perfect time to recognize the amazing teachers in our ALP Intensive English program. Global Academy held an end of term celebration last Friday where over 20 students gave presentations reflecting on their experiences and expressing appreciation to their teachers and hopes for the future. Acting AVP Balvinder Kumar was in attendance to encourage the students and five teachers and offer congratulations to all on a very successful semester.

🌸 Cherry Blossom Festival 🌸 It was a beautiful day to enjoy the cherry blossoms at the Japanese Zen Garden on campus! Thanks to many of the ALP students who volunteered to support this event🙏

CSUEB’s Global Academy hosted orientation for new students for the Spring II session of the Intensive English program last Friday. We’re delighted to welcome nine students from China, Japan, South Korea, Turkey and Vietnam. In addition to an overview of campus resources and academics, they had lunch at Pioneer Kitchen and a campus tour. Best wishes on your English studies this term!

CSUEB’s Global Academy just concluded hosting a virtual study abroad program for students from Chuo University in Japan.

7 students majoring Global Management at Chuo University attended classes via zoom from Jan 29-Feb 15 (3 weeks). This was the 6th online cohort from this valued partner school.

The program included:
* Communication Skills class
* Reading Skills class
* Business Culture of Silicon Valley -- included guest speakers from CSUEB College of Business and Economics (Dr. Glen Taylor), Databricks, Netflix, Stanford University
* Speaking Partners Program -- Conversation and cultural exchange with CSUEB students

A very Happy New year to our Pioneer family! Our office will re-open on Tuesday, January 2.
