Faith Ringgold School of Arts and Science is a K-8 Elementary/Middle school where rigorous Common Core standards-based Language Arts and Mathematics curricula are implemented daily. FRSAS offers a rigorous, project-based, hands-on learning environment with implementation and delivery of curricula emphasizing the integration of subjects incorporating Performing Arts, Visual Arts, and Science. In
addition to standards based, academic rigor, our students enjoy drawing, writing poetry, creating maker crafts, hula and step team dancing, Chess Club,Drama Club, music basics and band, football and soccer, science faires, etc. We also offer instrumental music and vocal/choir music on a pull out basis for students in Grades 5 to 8. We have an active Student Leadership Council with students who are interested in public speaking and organizational leadership. Our after school enrichment program (YEP) recently partnered with the Daughters of the American Revolution to support our troops and have been entered in the Guinness Book of World Records for their efforts! FRSAS is committed to providing our students a well rounded education ripe with real-world connections and highly effective applications. We believe Project Based and Experiential learning is the most organic style of learning and is most effective in nurturing student enthusiasm and feeding curiosity. Our location in Hayward, CA (The Heart Of The Bay Area) is just 20 minutes from the constantly evolving Tech hub of Silicon Valley! We strive to prepare student minds to embrace college and eventually secure jobs that may not even exist yet! A small sampling of our Science & Art Blocks include lessons integrating the study of dance and movement with physiology, physics, and the creation of simple machines. Another Block involved the creation of artwork related to the study of anatomy and the human skeleton. We boast an award winning student run garden, and more study trips per year than any other school in the district…thanks to our tremendously dedicated teachers and heavily involved parents! Our grade level standards-correlated study trips have included visits to the Nutcracker Ballet, Cable Cars Museum, San Francisco’s Chinatown, Monterey Bay Aquarium, the Exploratorium, Chabot Space Center, UC Berkeley, Ardenwood Farm, Pumpkin Patch Farms, The Egyptian Museum in San Jose, Great America, Santa Cruz Board Walk, Science Camp and much, much, more. Our teachers are all unique and form a very talented team. Each possesses unique skills and talents that make them well-qualified educators. In addition to being highly qualified individuals, we boast accomplished artists, poets, crafters, actresses, musicians, dancers, writers, media professionals and “scientists.”
