Last year, a $500 scholarship was created in loving memory of Dr. Rasberry, past director of Chabot College's Foster and Kinship Care Education Program. The scholarship was awarded to a student at Chabot College who had experienced foster care. We would like to continue this scholarship, and grow it to support at least two students for the upcoming scholarship application cycle.

Students will explore the meaning of co- dependency. Identify symptoms of co- dependent behaviors and will use self- reflection to examine how co-dependent people behave. “Turning Dreams into Degrees” includes two age-specific courses that can be used give resource families and staff at Short Term Residential Treatment Programs (STRTPs) the tools they need to prepare youth for college. The first course provides information about how to best support youth in grades 6-10 and the second focuses on youth in grades 11-12.

This 3-part series is based on the Love and Logic Series. In this series, parents will learn about how trauma affects the brain and how disruptive behaviors can be children's attempts at self-preservation and personal protection. While you are not required to attend the full series, doing so will impact your understanding of trauma and how to parent your child from a place of understanding and love. ONLINE
