Shout-out to our friends at J. Frank Schmidt & Son Co., Brady Nursery,and Hillside Nursery for helping us bring some young trees back to our aging Crabapple collection. 18 new bare root crabapples planted this week.

It’s a good one if you like to experiment with different ways to use your produce.

I am sooooo proud of the staff. All the harvests are in. Seed is being stratified. Cover crops are up and growing. Trees are finishing up their fall display. Irrigation system winterized. Now its time to fix everything we broke during the summer...Just a couple things.

Wrapped up our last harvest this week. Always a fun crop to grow. Still have a few left!!

The last Bradford Pear at the station has fallen…but it’s not done annoying me. When in doubt always call dig safe!

On Friday, October 10th from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm Benjamin Snider of River Valley Farm will be sharing his journey as a small-scale specialty crop farmer. Spend an evening with us and gain insights into high tunnel production, IPM, plant variety selection, and wash, pack, and storage setups.

It’s happening!!! Lots of pumpkins this year.

What a difference a month makes. Especially when Mother Nature plays nice! This is our NTEP Bermudagrass plot. Planted on June 25.

There will be plenty of pumpkins this fall.

Starting to vine. Hopefully we get cover before the next round of pigw**d.

Record rainfall has made w**d control a challenge this summer, but the crew has done a great job.
