Reunion weekend. Come on out for a busy weekend at the Breaks Park Potters K**b Shelter 1 just above the Rhododendron Restaurant. Bring a dish please. Sunday June 19, 2016.

There is going to be a civil war reenactment if you want to check out breakspark.com for more details. Busy weekend it looks like at the park. Also our very own master horse whisperer Carey Edwards opened a business Into the Mountain Outfitters at the Breaks Interstate Park in the park if you want to take a trail ride. I watched him at work today and he was very impressive, thorough and safety minded from what I saw. Come out and support the old cow hand on his venture in Haysi if you can.

Rivers to raft, heights to scale, camping, birding and porches to be sat on…while smiles form lazily upon contented faces.

Okay guys this is the list for food for our reunion. If you are coming, please put down what dish you are going to be able to bring. If we don't have enough food for the picnic we will be eating at the Rhodedendron Restaurant. Or, if you would rather do that just post it. Thanks.

Sunday June 19th is a little over a week away. Our 25th Reunion. The Shelter is reserved at the Breaks Park that is just above the Rhododendron Lodge. Please bring a covered dish or a bag of chips. If you are coming and bringing something, please comment what you are bringing. If you are bringing a covered dish of some sort, please bring it in a disposable container and a cheap serving spoon.

No shelters available on the Saturday of 18 or the 11th so that leaves us with Sunday the 19th at the Breaks and it is now reserved and paid for. You can bring a covered dish (aluminum disposable and a disposable spoon as well, no one is going to guarantee you get it back). If you want to bring anything, feel free to do so. If you want to chip in $5 on the shelter I won't turn it down but I'm not asking either, it was $105 total. If you cook, please let me know if you need a power plug because I am going to have a surge protector; we have 30 AMPS of power which should handle several crockpots but we will have no armed guards protecting your crock pots. Please bring an aluminum tray for food that won't spoil for sitting out for an couple of hours INSTEAD if you can.

Proper Food handling, don't want folks getting sick. If you can't cook, or haven't over the last 25 years, buy a bag of chips or a covered dish at Sam's Club to bring instead - we will all appreciate and love you for it.

Hotel rooms are available NOW for $99/night with AAA discount of 10% No one is 62 just yet so the Senior Citizen discount doesn't kick in until our 45th reunion which is only 20 years away. (276) 865-4413 if you want to reserve a hotel room. Camping season is open during this time as well if you want to rough it out. Get your campsite reserved now if you are going to tow your 2nd house to the park.
